FCPL/FCPS Partnership

Frederick County Public Schools and Frederick County Public Library have a strong partnership and work together to utilize each other resources to best meet the needs of our stakeholders. Your school media specialist has a contact at your local FCPL branch that they can work with to help get resources and have questions answered. Through this contact, various services may be provided, such as:

physical resources and having them checked out appropriately
help with FCPL tools
summer reading programs
Library programming
Student Success cards: students can use their FCPS student ID's to access both physical and digital resources
public library resources that enhance those provided by FCPS
another welcoming place for our students.
utilizing FCPL's relationship with the Maryland Public Library Consortiumining FCPS Sora account with FCPL Libby account for even more ebooks and audiobooks.

Beanstack- tracking reading and book recommendations Beanstack is the platform FCPL uses for summer reading and other various reading challenges. It also has book recommendation lists. Some FCPS schools also offer an account through the school that can be linked to the FCPL account.
Bookflix BookFLIX is an online literacy program for children that pairs classic video storybooks with nonfiction ebooks. BookFLIX builds a love of reading while reinforcing early reading skills in English and Spanish.
Digital Access to Newspapers and Magazines FCPL offers access to many magazines through Flipster using your public library account. FCPL also offers digital access to the Frederick News Post and other magazines
FCPL Events Calendar Visit the FCPL calendar to see which events and programming are available at your local branch.
