Literature Circle Research and Novel Connection
Assignment: As you continue reading your book, you will research topics to help expand your understanding of the novel, its themes, the author’s purpose, and its connection to the time it was written and today.
Research Criteria:
Read about and take notes on the author, an issue/topic of the time/culture about which the novel was written, and a current topic/issue with a connection to the novel.
A minimum of 6 notecards for each category (author, issue, current topic)
Use FCPS/FHSdatabase
Create works cited page
Use NoodleTools to organize notes and sources
Final Assignment--
Create a 4-5 minute presentation that uses notes about either the author, an issue, or current topic to explain a theme in the novel and how the related research helped you better understand your topic. More details on the presentation will be forthcoming.
