Your Assignment & Rubric for Grading

The final project includes three pieces: 

  1. Infographic outlining information about chosen career: 100 pts. 

  2. APA-style Resources List:  20 pts.

  3. Reflective Essay (to be completed at the close of the unit):  20 pts.

Use NoodleTools to properly cite all images, database articles, websites, personal interviews, etc. Essentially, anything that is not your own words, thoughts or work must be cited. 

Requirements for Infographic (items to research): 

  1. Career Overview:

    1. Job Title

    2. Brief Description: Summarize its primary responsibilities

  2. Education and Qualifications

    1. Required degrees of certifications

    2. Recommended coursework: subjects of courses beneficial for this career

  3. Skills Required

    1. Technical Skills: Specific skills related to the job (for example: proficiency with Microsoft products)

    2. Soft Skills: Important interpersonal skills (communication, teamwork, etc.)

  4. Job Market Information

    1. Job Outlook - how is this job looking in the future? Growth? Decline?

    2. Employment statistics - current employment and rates/trends

  5. Salary Information

    1. Average Salary: Annual or hourly wages

    2. Salary Range: look at the high and low end of the salary spectrum

  6. Work Environment

    1. Typical Settings - office, remote, fieldwork, travel 

    2. Work Schedule - typical hours and expectations for overtime or shift work

  7. Job Responsibilities

    1. Daily Tasks 

    2. Long-Term Projects: Examples of longer-term responsibilities, if applicable. 

  8. Challenges and Rewards

    1. Common Difficulties faced in the role

    2. Job Satisfaction - what do professionals find fulfilling? 

  9. Resources for Further Research

    1. List at least three resources for additional information (they can be places you found your research!)
