OMS Teacher Copyright and AUR Information: Why should I worry about citing my sources

Why?

Board Policy and Regulations state you will follow copyright and fair use guidelines.  They both require you to Cite your work unless you created it. So when you borrow an image, idea, or text that is not your own at the very least you need to cite it.  It also sets a good example for our students. They notice that their teachers "borrow" other people's work all the time and never give credit, so why should they?

NOODLETOOLS

The county purchases NoodleTools (available on the media website for students and under drive for staff). It allows staff and students to create citations, store them in a "project", create notecards that encourage paraphrasing, and creates a works cited page for you. Please see Your media specialist for more information about this great tool.
