In today's competitive job market it is crucial to prepare yourself and know what it takes to enter the workforce successfully. The purpose of this guide is to provide individuals with resources to help them prepare.

Why network?

Networking creates opportunities. You should always network even when you are not looking for a job. You can never have too many connections and resources. You also never know who you could end up working with or for so be kind and professional. There are many other benefits to networking such as: forming mutually beneficial relationships, gain industry insight, stay up-to-date on industry trends, connect with mentors, and to improve and refine yourself and your skills.

Tip: Prepare and practice a 30-60 second elevator pitch to sell yourself when you are networking. Emphasize your key strengths and the value you can add to a company or industry. Stay informed on the latest industry news and trends. Listen and be genuine.
